About Us

Sargeants Brothers started out back in the 1920’s as Sargeants Motors Ltd, and was founded by Mr C.T Sargeant, with services based in Builth Wells and Kington. He passed the Builth operations on to A.M. and C.M. Higginbotham and the business in Kington passed onto his sons, Anthony, and Keith in 1955, who adopted the title Sargeants Brothers. The business was then run by Michael and Huw Sargeant until it’s sale in November 2019.

Today we provide Public Transport services in the Herefordshire and Powys County Council areas and we also operate a number of school’s contracts for Herefordshire and Powys County Councils. Sargeants Brothers operate an essentially hourly service (daytime) between Kington and Hereford with regular connections at Kington to/from Llandrindod Wells. Our hours of operation are Monday to Saturday 06:00hrs to 20:00hrs.

Sargeants Brothers fleet underwent a renewal programme in early 2020 which saw the introduction of modern low floor Optare vehicles which brought the average age down to 6 years. In January 2021 contactless payment was rolled out across the whole Sargeants Brothers fleet.
